Grandma Gwen’s Puffed Wheat Cake

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup corn syrup
1 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp cocoa (optional)
2 tbsp cinnamon (optional)
1 tsp vanilla
9 cups puffed wheat

1) In a large pot, on medium, melt butter and add syrup, and sugar (and cocoa and cinnamon if desired). Stir until mix bubbles and then remove from heat.

2) Add and stir in vanilla.

3) Add and stir in wheat until well coated with butter/sugar mixture.

4) Pour in to a butter greased 9×13 pan and press until level. I place plastic wrap across the top and press with my hands.

5) Let cool ~1hr before cutting in to squares.
